Artist Profile
Duane Wiens found his passion for art on a
wind-swept wheat farm in Kansas. After completing a correspondence course in
drawing, he enrolled in the prestigious Colorado Institute of Art in Denver.
In
1978, Wiens founded Matrix International Associates, Ltd., a corporate graphic
design firm. Through the years, Matrix has received design awards from the Art
Directors Clubs of Denver, New York and Los Angeles, the Public Relations
Society of America and the "Mame" Sales and Marketing Council. The
Firm's works have appeared in numerous publications including identity,
Communications Art Annual, The Annual of Trademark Design, Logotypes of the
World ( Tokyo), and Design Journal (Korea).
Wiens was inducted into the
Colorado Institute of Art's Hall of Fame in 1989, Followed by induction into the
National Association of Trade and Technical Schools (NATTS) Hall of Fame in
Washington, D.C.
Listed in " Who's Who in America," Wiens is
also an accomplished sculptor. His bronzes can be found in the private
collections of art patrons from California to New York.
Wiens carries
his sketchbook with him wherever he goes as a visual diary of his travels. | |
